Numbers study / the Mathematical Structure Underneath the Text

We’re going to be looking at the meaning of numbers and the mathematical structure of scripture. To understand what I mean by mathematical structure of scripture, we have to first understand the supernatural origin of scripture. The bible was written outside of our time domain and transcends time and space and could not have been written by man. It was written entirely by God by sending the Holy Spirit to work through man. Isaiah 57:15 tells us that God inhabits eternity. Forty authors over a period of about sixteen hundred years wrote the sixty-six books of the bible which shows evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail.

Proverbs 25:2	It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
Proverbs 25:3	The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

When a word, a phrase, or an event occurs more than once, we can look at how many times they appear in scripture and see what message or meaning the Lord is trying to convey to us.

There are dozens of different kinds of encryptions underneath the text. We are going to discuss a few as we decipher the dark sayings of the book of Proverbs and search the scripture for height and depth. The first of these supernatural enigmas that we are going to search out is the meaning of the numbers used in scripture, and what they represent.

III. the number Three 3

- There are three that bear record in heaven.

- Three is the number that represents The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

- We are introduced to the The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the very first verse of Genesis:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The Hebrew word used for God is; ‘elohiym (el-o-heem’); (plural intensive – singular meaning) god, goddess, godlike one, works or special possessions of God, the (true) God, God.

In Genesis 1:1, Elohim is plural, but used with a singular verb Bara’ (baw-raw’); Verb, Strong #: 1254

- Elohiym is the plural of Eloah, yet there is one God:

I John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

- The Word was made flesh:

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Many who oppose I John 5:7 ask the question, “if Elohim implies a plurality of persons, how can Christians explain that the identical word, Elohim, in Tanach refering to Moses as well?” Regarding Moses, the Torah says:

Exodus 7:1

And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

Moses was made a godlike one for the purpose of glorifying YHWH. This is called a type; Moses was a representative of God, Aaron was his prophet, Pharaoh is a type of Satan and Egypt is an idiom of the world. This was done for the glory of YHWH, not to glorify Moses.

Exodus 7:5	And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
Exodus 7:6	And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

- We see also that the angels sing Holy, holy, holy in the book of Isaiah:

Isaiah 6:3

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

- And the elders sing Holy, holy, holy in the book of Revelation:

Revelation 4:8

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

- They say “Holy” three times to represent the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit.

- During Jesus’ three year ministry, it was recorded in the four gospels that Christ raised three people from the dead:

• Raised the widow’s son to life at the village of Nain
  Luke 7:11-16
• Raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead
  Matthew 9:18,19,23-26; Mark 5:22-24,35-43; Luke 8:41,42,49-56
• Raised Lazarus from the dead
  John 11:1-46

- On Calvary, three people were crucified.

- On the third day Jonah was released from the belly of the big fish.

- On the third day Jesus rose from the earth, and symbolizing this future Resurrection, the earth itself rose out of the waters on the third day of creation. Genesis 1:9-13

- The word “lamp” is used three times in the book of Proverbs.

Proverbs 6:23	For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
Proverbs 6:24	To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

- The word “judge” is used three times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “plead” is used three times in the book of Proverbs.

- This is interesting, because the same One who gives us the lamp (the commandments), is our high priest, pleading our cause. One day he will come back to judge.

IV. the number four 4

- Four represents the earth and is an earthly number

- There are four great elements-earth, air, fire, and water.

- The sun was created on the fourth day of creation.

- There are four regions of the earth-north, south, east, and west.

- There are four seasons

- The word “vanity” is used four times in the book of Proverbs.

- In Genesis 2:10-14, the river of Paradise was parted into four heads, and “the fourth river is Euphrates.”

V. the number five 5

- The number of grace.

- The word “invisible” is used five times in scripture.

- There are the five great mysteries:

1. Father

2. Son

3. Spirit

4. Creation

5. Redemption

- And speaking of redemption; the word “harvest” is used five times in the book of Proverbs.

VI. the number six 6

- Since five is the number of grace then six is an addition to it, the grace of God made of none effect. Since seven is the number which marks completion and spiritual perfection the six falls short of it. So whether we regard it as being 5 + 1, or 7 – 1, six is the number of imperfection; the human number; the number of MAN as destitute of God, without God, without Christ.

- The word “mocker” is used six times in scripture.

- The word “sluggard” is used six times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “pride” is used six times in the book of Proverbs.

There are three men which stand out in Scripture as the avowed enemies of God and of His people. Each is branded with this number six that we may not miss their significance:

1. GOLIATH, whose height was 6 cubits, and he had 6 pieces of armour;* his spear’s head weighed 600 shekels of iron (I Sam 17:4-7).

2. NEBUCHADNEZZAR, whose “image” which he set up,** was 60 cubits high and 6 cubits broad (Dan 3:1), and which was worshipped when the music was heard from 6 specified instruments,*** and

3. The ANTICHRIST, whose number is 666. (Rev 13:18)

VII. The number seven 7

- Seven is the number of completion and spiritual perfection. The Hebrew word for seven is Sheba` (sheh’-bah) from the root word Saba` (saw-bah’) meaning to be full, satisfied, or have enough of.

- There is almost an innumerable amount of sevens in scripture and in the book of Revelation.

Sevens in the book of Proverbs:

- There are seven abominations that God hates. Chapter 6

- Wisdom hewnd out seven pillars to build her house. Chapter 9

- The word “crown” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “secret” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “reprove” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “rebuke” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “honey” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “fountain” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

Verses that start with:

The fear of the LORD

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Verses dealing with:

Chastising and correcting children

Proverbs 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Proverbs 29:17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

VIII. The number eight 8

- The number of resurrection and renewal. Eight means a new beginning.

- The Ark contained eight souls.

- As Daniel prayed for a new beginning for his people, we should note that the word “pray” is used eight times in the book of Daniel.

- The word “truth” is used eight times in the book of Daniel.

- The word “blood” is used eight times in the book of Proverbs.

X. The number ten 10

- The completeness of Divine order. Example:

Noah completed the antediluvian age in the tenth generation from God.

Of or relating to the period before the flood described in the Bible

- We have the Ten Commandments given to us by God.

THE LORD’S PRAYER is completed in ten clauses. *

* These clauses have the significance of their respective numbers:-

The first, God’s sovereignty.

The second, Jehovah’s manifested Name.

The third, the realization of God’s kingdom.

The fourth first mentions the earth.

The fifth, the gift of grace supplying our need.

The sixth treats of man’s sin.

The seventh pleads for spiritual guidance.

The eighth pleads for final deliverance from all evil.

The ninth sums up the divine glory (32), while

The tenth completes the eternal cycles.

- Ten percent tithes represent the whole of what was due from man to God, as marking and recognizing God’s claim on the whole.

- The word “diligent” is used ten times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “glory” is used ten times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “truth” is used ten times in Proverbs.

- The antichrist’s world power is comprised in the ten kingdoms, symbolized by the ten toes on the feet of the image of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Dan 2:41), and by the ten horns of the fourth beast of Daniel’s vision (Dan 7:7,20,24, etc.; Rev 12:3, 13:1, 17:3,7,12).

XI. The number eleven 11

- Since ten is the number which marks the perfection of Divine order, then eleven is an addition to it, subversive of and undoing of that order. Since twelve is the number which marks the perfection of Divine government, then eleven falls short of it. So that whether we regard it as being 10 + 1, or 12 – 1, it is the number which marks, disorder, disorganization, imperfection, and disintegration.

1. In opposition to a civil authority or government.

- The word “perverse” is used eleven times in the book of Proverbs.

- Words used eleven times in scripture include the words; divorce, brutish.

Those are all negative words, but you can see by how many times those words are used in scripture, that the number of times they are used shows us what God is trying to tell us about those words.

Divorce = When two are married, they become united as one. To separate the two would be mans attempt to put asunder what God has joined together.

Matthew 19:3	The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
Matthew 19:4	And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Matthew 19:5	And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Matthew 19:6	Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Matthew 19:7	They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
Matthew 19:8	He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

- That is why the word divorce is 12-1= Man falling short of what God has put together through the hardness of his heart.

- The word “forsake” is used eleven times in the book of Proverbs.

Proverbs 4:2

For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

10+1 = Adding to God’s law and being wise in your own conceit.

12-1 = Showing no regard for God’s authority.

- We want explore as much as we can as we search out scripture for height and depth & decipher the dark sayings, but we don’t want to go too far and start making scripture start adding up to what we want it to add up to. They say that the bible is like a prisoner of war, if you twist it hard enough, you can make it say what ever you want it to say.

- We also have to take in consideration the language translation from Hebrew to English and from Greek to English. There are certain number codes that add up in the KJV that don’t even add up in the original language.

- An example of a perfect match would be the word “twenty”. The word twenty is used twelve times in the New Testament in English and twelve times in the original Greek translation:

- An example of a number making perfect since in the authorized KJV English and not the Greek in the New Testament would be the word “know” in the book of Colossians. The Colossians had a big problem with the Gnostics coming in their church and turning people away from the truth. Gnostics get their name from the Greek word Gnosis which means knowledge, so it makes perfect since when you look up the word “know” in the book of Colossians and see that it is used eleven times. Until you look at the original Greek and see that the word Gnosis is only used once and other words are used for words that have “know” as their base word, like; Epignosis for acknowledgement, and Gnorizo for known.

XII. The number twelve 12

- Twelve is a perfect number, signifying perfection of government.

- The number of governmental perfection. It is also called the number of power.

- The twelve apostles.

- The twelve fold structure of New Jerusalem can be found in Revelation chapter 21:

Revelation 21:14

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

- The word “silver” is used twelve times in Proverbs.

Proverbs 10:20

The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

- If we use our tongue to sever the LORD, it will be valuable to ourselves and the LORD.

Proverbs 21:23

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

- If we have a froward and perverse tongue, our heart is of little worth.

Matthew 15:17	Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Matthew 15:18	But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Matthew 15:19	For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Matthew 15:20	These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

- The word “drink” is used twelve times in the book of Proverbs.

XIII. The number thirteen 13

- Thirteen is the number of rebellion. The first time that the number thirteen was used in scripture, was in the chapter that described the first war in scripture:

Genesis 14:4

Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

- The number that represents the dragon.

- The word “dragon” appears thirteen times in the New Testament, and only in the book of Revelation.

- I am doing a study on the mark of the beast, and I came across this remarkable study while looking for the number of the beast.

Revelation 13:18

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

- Many of the names and titles of Satan add up to multiples of thirteen in both the Hebrew and the Greek. When you take the numerical values of both the Greek, and add them up and the Hebrew and add them up, they both add up to thirteen:

“Serpent” in Hebrew Saraph (saw-rawf’);

The fear of thirteen originated in the numerical value of Satan’s many names. You can actually read more about the numbers and names of Satan by investing in a book called “The Pattern & the Prophecy” by James Harrison.

- The word “thirteen” is used 26 times in the Old Testament, which is; 262=13.

- The word “gold” is used thirteen times in the book of Proverbs.

XXIV. The number twenty-four 24

- The number of worship.

- There were twenty four elders worshipping Christ in the book of Revelation.

- Judah or Judas = “he shall be praised”

- The name “Judas” means worship and is used twenty four times in the four Gospels.

note: Judas Iscariot was the son of perdition, but the name “Judas” means worship.

- The word “covenant” is used twenty four times in the New Testament. So praise God for his new covenant.

XXX. The number thirty 30

- being 3 x 10, denotes in a higher degree the perfection of Divine order. As marking the right moment, Christ was thirty years of age at the commencement of His ministry, Luke 3:23.

- The word “thirty” is used ten times in the four gospels.

XL. The number forty 40

- Forty is associated with a period of probation, trial, chastisement and mourning.

- Jesus fasted for forty days and was tested.

- It rained for forty days and forty nights during the flood of Noah.

- To receive the Ten Commandments, Moses was on the mount forty days and forty nights. Exodus 24:18

- After Jesus’ Resurrection and before He ascended into heaven, Jesus spent forty more days on earth. Acts 1:3

- The word “throne” is used forty times in the book of Revelation.

- The word “forty” is used twenty four times in the New Testament

M. The number 1000

- Peter tells us in II Peter 3:8:

II Peter 3:8

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

- A thousand years equal one day in God’s prophetic revelation to man.

Psalm 90:4

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

- On day number four, God created the sun. On millennium number four, God gave us his only begotten son who coming back to rule on the Sabbath. On millennium number seven. We are approaching the eve of millennium number six.

Jude 1:25

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.
