Welcome to Spiritual Eyes Ministry Bible Study podcast. My name is Derek Talley. My mission is to create free bible study courses on books of the bible, complete with audio and notes that you can download from the web, and provide everyone with complete bible study tools that you can use to help you study God’s word, create bible commentaries, and become closer to God. My first assignment in this podcast is to create a bible study course in the book of Proverbs. These are some of the things we are going to be doing on this podcast:

- Glorify the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus is on every page in the book of Proverbs. As a matter of fact, He is on every page in the Old Testament, and that is the first thing that we are going to explore, because the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

- We’ll be discussing parables of Jesus

- Looking at New Testament quotes from the book of Proverbs:

New Testament Quotes

Rom 3:15 Prov 1:16

Rom 12:20 Prov 25:21-22

Heb 12:5-6 Prov 3:11-12

James 4:6 Prov 3:34

1 Pet 5:5 Prov 3:34

2 Pet 2:22 Prov 26:11

Rev 3:19 Prov 3:11-12

- As a matter of fact, we are going to make it a point to touch every book in the bible during the course of this study.

- Were going to look at the charters in scripture, and see where they fit in, in the book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs is a thumbnail of each charter in scripture.

- We’re going to be discussing the meaning of the biblical names of some of the characters in scripture.

- Discuss the supernatural benefits of following God’s guidance and his commandments, and asking God to open our spiritual eyes.

- Discussing our stewardship in Christianity:

In a Christian context, stewardship refers to the responsibility that Christians have for the gifts that God has bestowed. In some settings, stewardship is operationalized as time, talent (ex. preaching & prophesying). The book of Proverbs teaches us that our most important stewardship is our heart.

- We’re going to concentrate on “thus said the LORD”. Not thus said Derek. I pray that the Holy Spirit works through me to increase your knowledge and understanding, and uses me to be a blessing to you; you have a much better teacher than me…………..

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

John 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.

John 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

- Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things.

- Proverbs is a book of wisdom and instruction.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God:

II Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

II Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Inspiration of God - G2315 θεόπνευστος theopneustos theh-op’-nyoo-stos

From G2316 and a presumed derivative of G4154; divinely breathed in: – given by inspiration of God.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable in four ways:

doctrine -what’s right;

reproof-what’s not right;

correction-how to get right;

instruction in righteousness-how to stay right.

- Thoroughly furnished means that you don’t have to buy extra biblical books by so called bible scholars, everything you need to understand the bible is in the bible. Scripture is not incomplete.

- Scripture interperates scripture.

What we won’t be doing in the verse by verse commentaries

- We are not interested in traditions of men. We’re only going follow God’s plan for our lives through scripture and the supernatural teaching of the Holy Ghost.

- We won’t be endorsing political candidates or telling people how to vote. If I feel that I have to do a political commentary, for what ever reason, I’ll do it in a separate podcast. Because my goal is to make a timeless bible commentary that everyone can pass down through the generations.

- I’m not going to tell you how to invest your money. We will discuss the biblical view on how to be wise stewards with your money and the book of Proverbs does teach us good money management. If you are an investor, the principals in Proverbs will help you to be wiser, and I’ll encourage you to diversify your funds. We’ll discuss how to store your riches in heaven, but not on earth.

- And as the Holy Spirit leads me, I will be working on other projects while putting together the Proverbs course.

enig·ma

Pronunciation: \i-‘nig-mə, e-\

Function: noun

Etymology: Latin aenigma, from Greek ainigmat-, ainigma, from ainissesthai to speak in riddles, from ainos fable

Date: 1539

1: an obscure speech or writing

2: something hard to understand or explain

3: an inscrutable or mysterious person

synonyms: see mystery

Q. Why do we have mysteries in scripture?

Answer:

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Proverbs 25:3 The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

Q. How can we get wisdom?

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

- Without Jesus Christ, you will not have wisdom.

- We’re going to discuss how we can better understand the enigma’s or dark sayings in scripture. That we might set our hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

Enigmatic Style

Psalm 78:1 Maschil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

Psalm 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Psalm 78:3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

Psalm 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

Psalm 78:5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

Psalm 78:6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

Psalm 78:7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

Psalm 78:8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

- We’re commanded in scripture to study the bible and read Proverbs to our children.

- 2 years ago my son and I started reading a chapter a day.

- No matter how uncomfortable a subject my be, if you read a chapter a day with your child, the Holy Spirit will inform you of the right opportunity to bring up those subjects with your children:

- guns /gangs

- drugs / steroids

- sex /rape

- stealing

- cheating

- Reading a chapter a day is the perfect opportunity to build your relationship with the LORD while also building your relationship with your children.

Q. Where should we look in order to decipher these dark sayings?

Looking at scripture at its literal face value first

- The first principle of interpretation is to discover the original author’s intended meaning. We understand that the forty authors who wrote the sixty-six books of the bible determined the meaning of the text at the time it was written. Therefore, our job as modern interpreters is to discover that original meaning. Scripture must be understood first in its face value.

- Just to make it clear, I take every word of the bible literally. When God says that he made the earth in seven days, to me that means he made the earth in seven days. Not seven ages or ever a billion years. As a matter of fact when I try to imagine the great majesty and awesome power of God, I ask myself; “Why did he choose seven days?” Why did he create the world in six days and rest on the seventh as an example to us?

Her·me·neu·tic

Adjective

1. Unfolding the signification; of or pertaining to interpretation; exegetical; explanatory; as, hermeneutic theology, or the art of expounding the Scriptures; a hermeneutic phrase.

2. Biblical hermeneutics refers to methods of interpreting the Bible.

- One way God signified his word is by supernatural encryption and supernatural multiplexing.

En·cryp·tion

Noun

1. The activity of converting from plain text into code.

Example 1: The mathematical structure of scripture.

Example 2: The law of first mention. (Looking at how a certain word is first used in scripture to discover it’s meaning elsewhere.) This method is usually used in the book of Revelation.

For an example of the first mention rule, I’m going to use Revelation 6:2;

Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

First mentioned here:

Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

- THE BOW – A covenant (peace treaty). The bow is also a symbol of war and conquest. We know from the book of Daniel that the anti-Christ will be coming with a false peace.

- THE WHITE HORSE – Whenever a Roman General had a victory over a foreign enemy, his chariot was drawn by milk-white horses. A white horse signifies victory in war.

- THE HORSES IN REVELATION 6 -Isaiah 31:3 let’s us know that God’s horses are spirit horses. Zechariah 6 tells us that the four horses are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

- THE RIDER – A conquering rider fits best with man of sin prophetically depicted in II Thessalonians 2.

- THE CROWN – This crown is the garland crown (stephanos). This crown is given as a reward for victory in battle, for great achievements or for victory in games as opposed to the diadem (diadema) which is a royal crown.

- The word “crown” is used twenty-four times in the New Testament.

- There are multiple messages being transmitted through that one verse, rev. 6:2. That is called multiplexing:

Mul·ti·plexing

transitive verb

1. Being or relating to a system of transmitting several messages or signals simultaneously on the same circuit or channel.

Comparing scripture with scripture

- A word, phrase, or concept should first be studied in the context of the passage under consideration and then in light of its use in other passages of Scripture. When a given text is not explicit about a truth, no conclusion should be drawn about that truth until all relevant passages have been studied.

Figures of Speech

- Figures of speech employ language that is highly suggestive, but have a literal reference. The interpreter must determine the literal reference.

- Figure of speech example:

Date: 1588

1. Similarity by virtue of correspondence.

- Three kinds of parallelisms:

1. Synonymous Parallelism

The second clause restates what is given in the first clause:

Proverbs 26:9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

2. Antithetic (Contrast) Parallelism

A truth, which is stated in the first clause, is made stronger in the second clause by contrast with an opposite truth:

Proverbs 10:31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

3. Synthetic Parallelism

The second clause develops the thought of the first:

Proverbs 25:19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.

or

Proverbs 26:17 He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

An·thro·po·mor·phism

Noun

1. The representation of objects as having human form or traits. The attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to nonhuman organisms, inanimate objects, animals, plants, or other natural phenomena, or to God. To describe a rushing river as “angry” is to anthropomorphize it.

Wisdom and Folly are anthropomorphized in the first nine chapters of the book of Proverbs in order to show the contrast between the two.

God uses anthropomorphisms to draw parallel examples between the physical (which we can see) and the Spiritual (which we cannot see) in order to explain Spiritual Truths.

For example, when describing wisdom we are told;

Proverbs 3:16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Romans 1:20 explains that for the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Biblical Allegory – A visible symbol in scripture representing God’s plan for us.

- The bible is under attack, and it is under attack by those who are under informed.

- This is an area where people have conflict in their hermeneutics. It’s been my experience in speaking with people about God’s word, that if they look at something in scripture as being an allegory, they totally dismiss it at being literal. And if they look at something as being literal, they totally dismiss any allegorical significance.

- Many of the literal events in the bible are there as an allegory for us to learn from.

For example; The two covenants:

Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

Galatians 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Galatians 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Galatians 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

Galatians 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

- We are no longer under the curse of the law. Jesus freed us from that with his precious blood.

More than sixteen centuries ago, the great Christian writer and theologian, St. Augustine made some interesting observations about people who look at the bible as just historical facts, and dismiss any allegorical significance of scripture. Concerning the flood, St. Augustine wrote in his book, City of God:

No one ought to imagine, however, that this account [of the flood] was written for no purpose, or that we are to look here solely for a reliable historical record without any allegorical meaning, or, conversely, that those events are entirely, unhistorical, and the language purely symbolical, or that, whatever may be the nature of the story it has no connection with prophecy about the Church. Surely it is only a twisted mind that would maintain that books which have been so scrupulously preserved for thousands of years, which have been safeguarded by such a concern for so well-ordered a transmission, that such books were written without serious purpose, or that we should consult them simply for historical facts?

Numbers study / the Mathematical Structure Underneath the Text

We’re going to be looking at the meaning of numbers and the mathematical structure of scripture. To understand what I mean by mathematical structure of scripture, we have to first understand the supernatural origin of scripture. The bible was written outside of our time domain and transcends time and space and could not have been written by man. It was written entirely by God by sending the Holy Spirit to work through man. Isaiah 57:15 tells us that God inhabits eternity. Forty authors over a period of about sixteen hundred years wrote the sixty-six books of the bible which shows evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail.

Proverbs 25:3

The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

When a word, a phrase, or an event occurs more than once, we can look at how many times they appear in scripture and see what message or meaning the Lord is trying to convey to us.

There are dozens of different kinds of encryptions underneath the text. We are going to discuss a few as we decipher the dark sayings of the book of Proverbs and search the scripture for height and depth. The first of these supernatural enigmas that we are going to search out is the meaning of the numbers used in scripture, and what they represent.

III. the number Three 3

- There are three that bear record in heaven.

- Three is the number that represents The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

- We are introduced to the The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the very first verse of Genesis:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The Hebrew word used for God is; ‘elohiym (el-o-heem’); (plural intensive – singular meaning) god, goddess, godlike one, works or special possessions of God, the (true) God, God.

In Genesis 1:1, Elohim is plural, but used with a singular verb Bara’ (baw-raw’); Verb, Strong #: 1254

- Elohiym is the plural of Eloah, yet there is one God:

I John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

- The Word was made flesh:

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Many who oppose I John 5:7 ask the question, “if Elohim implies a plurality of persons, how can Christians explain that the identical word, Elohim, in Tanach refering to Moses as well?” Regarding Moses, the Torah says:

Exodus 7:1

And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

Moses was made a godlike one for the purpose of glorifying YHWH. This is called a type; Moses was a representative of God, Aaron was his prophet, Pharaoh is a type of Satan and Egypt is an idiom of the world. This was done for the glory of YHWH, not to glorify Moses.

- We see also that the angels sing Holy, holy, holy in the book of Isaiah:

- They say “Holy” three times to represent the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit.

- During Jesus’ three year ministry, it was recorded in the four gospels that Christ raised three people from the dead:

Raised the widow’s son to life at the village of Nain
Luke 7:11-16

Raised Lazarus from the dead
John 11:1-46

- On Calvary, three people were crucified.

- On the third day Jonah was released from the belly of the big fish.

- On the third day Jesus rose from the earth, and symbolizing this future Resurrection, the earth itself rose out of the waters on the third day of creation. Genesis 1:9-13

- The word “lamp” is used three times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “judge” is used three times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “plead” is used three times in the book of Proverbs.

- This is interesting, because the same One who gives us the lamp (the commandments), is our high priest, pleading our cause. One day he will come back to judge.

IV. the number four 4

- Four represents the earth and is an earthly number

- There are four great elements-earth, air, fire, and water.

- The sun was created on the fourth day of creation.

- There are four regions of the earth-north, south, east, and west.

- There are four seasons

- The word “vanity” is used four times in the book of Proverbs.

- In Genesis 2:10-14, the river of Paradise was parted into four heads, and “the fourth river is Euphrates.”

V. the number five 5

- The number of grace.

- The word “invisible” is used five times in scripture.

- There are the five great mysteries:

1. Father

2. Son

3. Spirit

4. Creation

5. Redemption

- And speaking of redemption; the word “harvest” is used five times in the book of Proverbs.

VI. the number six 6

- Since five is the number of grace then six is an addition to it, the grace of God made of none effect. Since seven is the number which marks completion and spiritual perfection the six falls short of it. So whether we regard it as being 5 + 1, or 7 – 1, six is the number of imperfection; the human number; the number of MAN as destitute of God, without God, without Christ.

- The word “mocker” is used six times in scripture.

- The word “sluggard” is used six times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “pride” is used six times in the book of Proverbs.

There are three men which stand out in Scripture as the avowed enemies of God and of His people. Each is branded with this number six that we may not miss their significance:

1. GOLIATH, whose height was 6 cubits, and he had 6 pieces of armour;* his spear’s head weighed 600 shekels of iron (I Sam 17:4-7).

2. NEBUCHADNEZZAR, whose “image” which he set up,** was 60 cubits high and 6 cubits broad (Dan 3:1), and which was worshipped when the music was heard from 6 specified instruments,*** and

3. The ANTICHRIST, whose number is 666. (Rev 13:18)

VII. The number seven 7

- Seven is the number of completion and spiritual perfection. The Hebrew word for seven is Sheba` (sheh’-bah) from the root word Saba` (saw-bah’) meaning to be full, satisfied, or have enough of.

- There is almost an innumerable amount of sevens in scripture and in the book of Revelation.

Sevens in the book of Proverbs:

- There are seven abominations that God hates. Chapter 6

- Wisdom hewnd out seven pillars to build her house. Chapter 9

- The word “crown” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “secret” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “reprove” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “rebuke” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “honey” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “fountain” is used seven times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “truth” is used eight times in the book of Daniel.

- The word “blood” is used eight times in the book of Proverbs.

* These clauses have the significance of their respective numbers:-

The first, God’s sovereignty.

The second, Jehovah’s manifested Name.

The third, the realization of God’s kingdom.

The fourth first mentions the earth.

The fifth, the gift of grace supplying our need.

The sixth treats of man’s sin.

The seventh pleads for spiritual guidance.

The eighth pleads for final deliverance from all evil.

The ninth sums up the divine glory (32), while

The tenth completes the eternal cycles.

- Ten percent tithes represent the whole of what was due from man to God, as marking and recognizing God’s claim on the whole.

- The word “diligent” is used ten times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “glory” is used ten times in the book of Proverbs.

- The word “truth” is used ten times in Proverbs.

- The antichrist’s world power is comprised in the ten kingdoms, symbolized by the ten toes on the feet of the image of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Dan 2:41), and by the ten horns of the fourth beast of Daniel’s vision (Dan 7:7,20,24, etc.; Rev 12:3, 13:1, 17:3,7,12).

XI. The number eleven 11

- Since ten is the number which marks the perfection of Divine order, then eleven is an addition to it, subversive of and undoing of that order. Since twelve is the number which marks the perfection of Divine government, then eleven falls short of it. So that whether we regard it as being 10 + 1, or 12 – 1, it is the number which marks, disorder, disorganization, imperfection, and disintegration.

Subversive

Adjective

1. In opposition to a civil authority or government.

- The word “perverse” is used eleven times in the book of Proverbs.

- Words used eleven times in scripture include the words; divorce, brutish.

Those are all negative words, but you can see by how many times those words are used in scripture, that the number of times they are used shows us what God is trying to tell us about those words.

Divorce = When two are married, they become united as one. To separate the two would be mans attempt to put asunder what God has joined together.

He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

- That is why the word divorce is 12-1= Man falling short of what God has put together through the hardness of his heart.

- The word “forsake” is used eleven times in the book of Proverbs.

10+1 = Adding to God’s law and being wise in your own conceit.

12-1 = Showing no regard for God’s authority.

- We want explore as much as we can as we search out scripture for height and depth & decipher the dark sayings, but we don’t want to go too far and start making scripture start adding up to what we want it to add up to. They say that the bible is like a prisoner of war, if you twist it hard enough, you can make it say what ever you want it to say.

- We also have to take in consideration the language translation from Hebrew to English and from Greek to English. There are certain number codes that add up in the KJV that don’t even add up in the original language.

- An example of a perfect match would be the word “twenty”. The word twenty is used twelve times in the New Testament in English and twelve times in the original Greek translation:

twenty: Strong # 1501

- An example of a number making perfect since in the authorized KJV English and not the Greek in the New Testament would be the word “know” in the book of Colossians. The Colossians had a big problem with the Gnostics coming in their church and turning people away from the truth. Gnostics get their name from the Greek word Gnosis which means knowledge, so it makes perfect since when you look up the word “know” in the book of Colossians and see that it is used eleven times. Until you look at the original Greek and see that the word Gnosis is only used once and other words are used for words that have “know” as their base word, like; Epignosis for acknowledgement, and Gnorizo for known.

XII. The number twelve 12

- Twelve is a perfect number, signifying perfection of government.

- The number of governmental perfection. It is also called the number of power.

- The twelve apostles.

- The twelve fold structure of New Jerusalem can be found in Revelation chapter 21:

- The word “drink” is used twelve times in the book of Proverbs.

XIII. The number thirteen 13

- Thirteen is the number of rebellion. The first time that the number thirteen was used in scripture, was in the chapter that described the first war in scripture:

Genesis 14:4

- The number that represents the dragon.

- The word “dragon” appears thirteen times in the New Testament, and only in the book of Revelation.

- I am doing a study on the mark of the beast, and I came across this remarkable study while looking for the number of the beast.

- Many of the names and titles of Satan add up to multiples of thirteen in both the Hebrew and the Greek. When you take the numerical values of both the Greek, and add them up and the Hebrew and add them up, they both add up to thirteen:

“Serpent” in Hebrew Saraph (saw-rawf’);

800+200+300=1300

The fear of thirteen originated in the numerical value of Satan’s many names. You can actually read more about the numbers and names of Satan by investing in a book called “The Pattern & the Prophecy” by James Harrison.

- The word “thirteen” is used 26 times in the Old Testament, which is; 262=13.

- The word “gold” is used thirteen times in the book of Proverbs.

XXIV. The number twenty-four 24

- The number of worship.

- There were twenty four elders worshipping Christ in the book of Revelation.

- Judah or Judas = “he shall be praised”

- The name “Judas” means worship and is used twenty four times in the four Gospels.

note: Judas Iscariot was the son of perdition, but the name “Judas” means worship.

- The word “covenant” is used twenty four times in the New Testament. So praise God for his new covenant.

XXX. The number thirty 30

- being 3 x 10, denotes in a higher degree the perfection of Divine order. As marking the right moment, Christ was thirty years of age at the commencement of His ministry, Luke 3:23.

- The word “thirty” is used ten times in the four gospels.

XL. The number forty 40

- Forty is associated with a period of probation, trial, chastisement and mourning.

- Jesus fasted for forty days and was tested.

- It rained for forty days and forty nights during the flood of Noah.

- To receive the Ten Commandments, Moses was on the mount forty days and forty nights. Exodus 24:18

- After Jesus’ Resurrection and before He ascended into heaven, Jesus spent forty more days on earth. Acts 1:3

- The word “throne” is used forty times in the book of Revelation.
